Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor, most famous as a star of the well-known TV series 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. The first time he became interested in acting was in his early college days. He studied acting at University of Colorado at Boulder. He has been in the television and film industry, but the small screen characters which gained him fame as well as a large audience. The actor has the ability to create characters that reflect both good and bad sides of the legal system. He is able capture the audiences attention easily. His first television show, he was a serial murderer. Then, he played the character of an NYPD detective. He was repeatedly nominated for both the prestigious Emmy Awards, and the PRISM Awards. His most attractive facial feature is believed to be his striking blue eyes, which are considered to be a trademark and helped in portraying the rough and savage characters with a sense of humour. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
