Amanda Brugel

(February 27 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in the part of Montreal called"the West Island. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of different communities. People who have never been aware of it frequently mistake it for a separate island facing west. Amanda Brugel's birthplace is frequently referenced, however her brief time in the city wasn't. Brugel grew up in Courtice outside Oshawa Ontario. The first goal she had was to become an expert dancer. However, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew every dance partner she had. A Toronto Star article revealed she's 6 feet 1 inch tall and has heels. The moment I outgrew any male partner then I slowed down. A lot of dancers go from dancing to acting. For Bruce, it was her drama teacher who encouraged her to go in this direction. A teacher suggested that she try out for a school play. She tried out and ended up playing the leading role in Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000, she received her BA in Fine Arts at York University. For the last twenty years, her work has been featured on both the small and large screen. She gained the most attention when she won her character of Rita in the acclaimed television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel played the role of the character of Rita on The Handmaid's tale, a series that was filmed over ten years ago.
